Well, John and I have completed our first night in Japan. We struggled to stay awake until 10pm and then passed out. We had to wait at the airport for 4 hours while the military arranged a bus to Yokosuka. With all of the evacuee's returning, the regular process they follow is thrown off.
We met John's sponsor at the place the bus dropped us off on base. He took us to the kennel to drop off Wylee and then to the hotel. There was a huge line at check-in and by the time we made it to our room we were exhausted.
John and I both used our Japanese in the airport and we're looking forward to using more of the language tonight when we go off base and explore an area called "The Honch"....this area is popular for drinking sailors and apparently is not the best place to drink (not crime-wise, but sailors be acting stupid) but it's right outside of base, so we're going to go explore.
We've got yen in our pocket and today we go get cellphones. So I'll update more later. Going to get cellphones today!
